In October 2014, 2015 I completed another wonderful family trek in Nepal to Langtang and Gosainkund lakes thanks to Sappa and his company “Nepal Base Camp Treks”. I first met Sappa in 2008 on a family Gokyo Lakes Trek and EBC Trek. At that time, I was greatly impressed by the highly professional approach he took to mountain guiding. I’m very happy to report that in 2014 nothing has changed. Sappa continues to maintain an exceptionally high standard of service and this together with his warm, generous and engaging personality ensured everyone in our party had an amazing time during their visit to Nepal.

We were treated to fantastic traditional Nepalese food and cultural performances at welcoming and farewell dinners in Kathmandu; expertly and safely guided over 14 days of trekking through an incredibly beautiful landscape; and provided with detailed and knowledgeable commentary during our tours of all the main sites around Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan. I’m very happy to report that the organisation of our transport, sightseeing, accommodation and trekking arrangements was first rate and that over three weeks everything ran very smoothly indeed. Overall, Sappa‘s vast guiding experience and mountain knowledge ensured that our itinerary was structured in such a way that it provided us with a good deal of flexibility and ample time to absorb the magnificent mountain views while trekking, as well as not being rushed on our tours of Kathmandu and surrounds.

On this trip, a few in our party were first time trekkers. What a fantastic introduction to trekking in the Nepal Himalaya they received thanks to the great care and attention to every little detail provided by Sappa and his fabulous support crew Manoj, Shankar and Suraj. Thank you Sappa,for also keeping up the tradition of supplying us with bananas and chocolate bars. I must also mention that the pomegranate seeds the crew provided to us on our way to Langtang was an unexpected but greatly appreciated treat. Importantly, from a safety aspect, we were more than pleased to find that Nepal Base Camp Treks used modern four wheel drive vehicles to take us to the start of our trek in Syabrubesi and also for the return journey from Dhunche. We were also very impressed to observe that Sappa and his company take very good care of their support crews.

If you are planning to visit Nepal, I have no hesitation in recommending Sappa and his company “Nepal Base Camp Treks” for trouble free trekking and touring. You will not be disappointed. I can’t wait for my next trek with Sappa, which will be around Manaslu trek.

Sappa é o cara. Visitei o Nepal em duas ocasiões. Na primeira ele foi meu guia no circuito Annapurna, onde caminhamos por 21 dias. Na segunda ele nos guiou nos treks Langtang, Gosainkunda e Helambu por 17 dias. Alem disso, ele foi nosso guia no trek Cheppang Hills. Como se não bastasse, fizemos também o clássico Base Camp Everest partindo de Jiri e passando por Renjo La e Cho La, em 24 dias com o seu irmão Lako. O Nepal é um pais maravilhoso e a companhia de um guia como Sappa fez toda a diferença, pois ele nos explicou muito sobre a cultura local, religião, situação política/conflitos no pais e como funciona a sociedade no Nepal em geral. Ele fala muito bem inglês, é muito bem humorado e as risadas estão garantidas. Pra resumir, você começa a trilha com um guia e termina com um amigo. Recomendo-o sem hesitar. Would highly recommend this company. When we arrived in Kathmandu, there had just been a monsoon and normal roads were closed. Sappa was working diligently to make alternate plans for us so that we could still complete the trek. He was extremely communicative and organized everything perfectly. Our guide, Raj, was very knowledgeable on the trail and organized all of the tea houses with no problem. It made it so easy. I had an issue with my hiking shoes tearing from the soles while we were in Namache. He took my shoes to a guy to fix them & saved my trip!!! Not only that, but on the final hike at around 18,000 feet, I was struggling with oxygen and he carried me on his back to bring me down to lower elevation. Raj was the best tour guide we could have asked for!! Between Raj and the porters, the team felt like family. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for trekking in Nepal!

Sappa handled all of the logistics in Kathmandu (airport pickup, transfer to Ramechhap, etc.) Our meals, lodging, guide, porter, and logistics were all taken care of and everything went as smooth as possible during the trek. This company is great because it utilizes local guides in Lukla for the treks. Our guide Raj was one of the best guides we’ve ever had while traveling. He took care of all of the logistics during the trek and helped us coordinate a helicopter back to Ramechhap when all of the flights were grounded. He also carried my wife several hundred meters down the mountain when she was feeling lightheaded due to altitude. Overall, a great team and couldn’t recommend this company more. From the start, Sappa was very friendly and responsive in coordinating the logistics. We had many questions regarding our ABC trip and would communicate with him via email and Whatsapp with our endless questions and Sappa would always be so patient and quick in answering us.He also met us at our hotel on our first day to explain how the hiking trip will go, which was a great reassurance knowing that everything was well planned by Sappa and his team. He also came down to meet us during our last day in Nepal which was a very nice touch. Thank you Sappa so much 🙂 We are also greatly appreciative of our hiking guide Dipak and porter Jithram. Dipak was very kind to assist us despite us being slow hikers, he took care of us when we did not feel well halfway during the trip and was always on the lookout for our safety.  Verified Incredible Everest Base Camp Trek I had a wonderful time with Nepal Base Camp Treks. Sappa was very considerate and answered all of my many questions through WhatsApp and in person. He was thorough in explaining to me the entire process of my trek, and organised everything in Kathmandu, including a hotel, airport pickup, gear hiring/borrowing, frequently checked in with me to make sure my needs were met, and hired a porter for me at the last minute when I asked. During my EBC trek, my guide Raj was incredibly attentive, always making sure I was as comfortable as possible, taking care of all of the accomodation, organising alternate accomodation (teahouses were often full due to the busy time of year), checking to make sure I was adjusting to the altitude well etc. On our way back, my wisdom tooth got infected, and Raj helped me find the dentist and went with me to the appointment to make sure I was well taken care of during the process. We were supposed to trek further that day, but Raj insisted that we stop early so that I could stop and rest as my nose also kept bleeding, and organised my accomodation at a new teahouse. I also got stuck in Lukla for a couple of days at the end of the hike, and he made sure to keep me updated on flight and weather conditions and organised my move to a different teahouse as mine had filled up. I could not have asked for a more thoughtful and generous guide.I really appreciate all of the effort that Sappa, Raj, and my porter Buddi went to to make sure I had a great experience in Nepal. I would definitely use this company again when travelling in Nepal.

 Verified Comfortable and Customizable The entire trip was amazing. Sappa and Lako were super helpful and made sure that we were always comfortable and had everything we needed. I did the Annapurna circuit with my family, and they organized everything, including transportation to and from the mountains, booking hotels, and coordinating with the hotel and restaurant staff every day. We obviously were able to have our input and they tailored the experience to be perfect for us. I would absolutely book another trip with Nepal Base Camp Treks!

 Verified Everest Base Camp Trek with Raj I just completed the Everest Base Camp Trek with Raj as my tour guide. The trip could not have been better!! Would highly recommend this company.When we arrived in Kathmandu, there had just been a monsoon and normal roads were closed. Sappa was working diligently to make alternate plans for us so that we could still complete the trek. He was extremely communicative and organized everything perfectly.Our guide, Raj, was very knowledgeable on the trail and organized all of the tea houses with no problem. It made it so easy. I had an issue with my hiking shoes tearing from the soles while we were in Namache. He took my shoes to a guy to fix them & saved my trip!!! Not only that, but on the final hike at around 18,000 feet, I was struggling with oxygen and he carried me on his back to bring me down to lower elevation. Raj was the best tour guide we could have asked for!!Between Raj and the porters, the team felt like family. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for trekking in Nepal!
