Question 1

What is the best time for trekking in Nepal for US travelers?

Accepted Answer

The best seasons for trekking in Nepal are March to May and September to November. These pre- and post-monsoon windows offer clear skies, stable trails, and stunning Himalayan views — ideal for US travelers planning their trip. Spring brings rhododendron blooms across the trails, while autumn offers the sharpest mountain visibility. Most of our Nepal hiking trips and Nepal trekking packages are scheduled during these peak windows to ensure the best possible experience.

Question 2

What is the highest base camp trek in Nepal?

Accepted Answer

The highest Nepal base camp destination is Everest Base Camp for trek, sitting at 5,364 meters (17,598 ft). It is the crown jewel of all treks in Nepal, offering jaw-dropping views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Khumbu Glacier. This is one of the world’s most iconic trekking achievements, and thousands of American adventurers complete it every year with our guided Nepal trekking packages.

Question 3

Which base camp trek in Nepal is best for first-timers?

Accepted Answer

For first-time visitors, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the most recommended of all treks in Nepal. It offers diverse Himalayan landscapes, manageable altitude, and incredible views of the Annapurna massif — all in 7–10 days. The Everest Base Camp Trek is ideal for those wanting a bigger challenge and an iconic bucket-list experience. Both are available as fully guided Nepal trekking packages with Nepal Base Camp Treks, customized to your fitness level and schedule.

Question 4

Which is more challenging — Everest Base Camp or Annapurna?

Accepted Answer

The Everest Base Camp Trek is the more challenging of the two. It reaches a higher altitude (5,364m vs 4,130m), involves more days of trekking, and requires more careful acclimatization. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is still a demanding and rewarding Himalayan adventure but has more stable weather and slightly lower elevation — making it a popular choice for first-time Nepal hiking trips. Both treks are fully supported by our experienced guides when you book trekking in Nepal with us.

Question 5

How much do Nepal trekking packages cost?

Accepted Answer

Our Nepal trekking packages are competitively priced for international travelers, especially from the USA. The Everest Base Camp Trek starts from $1,160 per person for a 14-day guided trek. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts from $610 for an 8-day package. Costs vary based on group size, trek duration, accommodation standard, and added services. We also offer combined tours in Nepal that include Kathmandu heritage sightseeing alongside your mountain trek. All packages include guide, porter, permits, and accommodation — no hidden fees.

Question 6

Can a beginner do the Everest Base Camp Trek?

Accepted Answer

Yes — beginners can absolutely complete the Everest Base Camp Trek with the right preparation. No technical climbing skills are required. The key is building cardio fitness beforehand, allowing proper acclimatization days on the trail, and trekking at a sustainable pace. Our guides have led hundreds of first-time trekkers on Nepal hiking trips to Everest Base Camp safely. Many of our US clients complete this trek as their very first major trekking experience and describe it as life-changing.

Question 7

Do you provide trekking insurance for Nepal treks?

Accepted Answer

We do not include trekking insurance in our packages, but we strongly advise all trekkers to obtain comprehensive travel insurance before departure — especially those traveling from the USA. Your policy should cover high-altitude trekking, helicopter evacuation, medical expenses, and trip cancellation. As one of the most trusted Nepal trekking companies, we are happy to guide you on what to look for in a policy and recommend reputable insurers familiar with trekking in Nepal.

Question 8

Can you help with trekking permits for Nepal?

Accepted Answer

Yes — permit handling is fully included in all our Nepal treks and tours. We manage everything: the TIMS card (Trekkers’ Information Management System), Sagarmatha National Park entry permits for the Everest region, and Annapurna Conservation Area permits. For US travelers, navigating Nepal’s permit system from abroad can be complex — our team handles all paperwork so you can focus on preparing for your trek. This is one of the key advantages of booking your tours in Nepal with a registered, experienced local agency.

Question 9
